From Rural Roots to AI Strategy

Hi I’m Leanne and I have a fairly unique story…

Back in 1997, I took a family farming business online – long before most rural businesses even had an email address. By 2000, I was teaching others how to use the internet through a government program, and by 2004, I was running global online meetings and facilitating floristry training via video conferencing as a national Flexible Learning Leader.

I joined LinkedIn in 2007 and grew a network of over 25,000 connections by 2015 – now in 2025 over 30,000 strong – helping professionals build visibility, relationships, and referral-based business. Connection has always been at the heart of what I do.

In 2008, I create a new rural business in the horse niche and moved our new business entirely online, marketing exclusively through digital channels. It grew to a six figure business within 12 months.  Fast forward to 2012, I’d built websites, auto responders, used AWeber as a CRM, learned about social media marketing.  Through my learning I created a Facebook page in the horse niche with over 10,000 fans in just 21 days – it now has more than 30,000.

Learning and putting it into practice on the ground was my speciality. I was part of global online masterminds, learning from experts around the globe.

Then in 2022, ChatGPT landed – and I was all in.

Today, I’m a Certified AI Consultant (2024) using tools every day – ChatGPT, Gamma, Perplexity, HeyGen, Claude, Invideo, Gemini, and Microsoft Copilot – not just in my consulting work, but in my role within the not-for-profit sector. I don’t just talk about AI – I use it, test it, train with it, and teach others how to make it practical, ethical, and human-friendly.

I believe innovation should be accessible, strategy should be human, and technology should always serve people – not replace them.
